Kristin King-McDowell, MMT, MT-BC is a board-certified music therapist who holds her Master of Music Therapy degree from Appalachian State University with a specialty area in Expressive Arts, and her bachelor's in Professional Music from Berklee College of Music. She completed her music therapy internship at Primary Children’s Hospital in Salt Lake City. Kristin has experience working in medical, psychiatry, and special education settings. While working for McConnell Music Therapy Services in Sacramento, she served adults with cancer in inpatient and outpatient settings, children receiving special education services, and adolescents and adults diagnosed with eating disorders. Kristin now lives in the Portland, Oregon area where she will soon begin graduate school and work towards licensure as an LPC. She continues to provide telehealth, remote administrative, and graphic design services to MMTS. In all areas of her work, she considers it a privilege to work with her clients, witnessing and supporting them in their journey towards wellness and healing.
