"Music is to the soul what words are to the mind."
Rachel is a Board-Certified Music Therapist from sunny South Florida. She is a graduate of the University of Miami - Frost School of Music, where she received her bachelor’s degree in Music Therapy with an additional major in Psychology. Rachel completed her music therapy internship at Holtz Children’s Hospital in Miami, FL. Throughout her professional career, Rachel has gained experience in a variety of settings within Music Therapy and beyond. Rachel currently serves patients in pediatrics, NICU, and child/adolescent behavioral health settings with McConnell Music Therapy Services.
Rachel realized her passion for music therapy through the guidance and mentorship at The Neurofeedback Institute and her experiences as a clarinetist. She had always dreamed of combining her passions for music, therapy, and psychology. Rachel knew that, for her, Music Therapy was the perfect way to connect with her patients and bring people together. Even more so, she found that creating a safe and empathetic space in Music Therapy would promote lasting positive growth. Adopting a humanistic framework and creating that container for growth has allowed Rachel to make meaningful and lasting connections with her patients.
Rachel’s childhood dream was to live in California and is excited to see that dream realized! In her free time, Rachel enjoys spending time with her cat named Billie, as well as reading, playing her clarinet, exploring different cuisines, going to local flea and farmers markets, and spending quality time with loved ones (near or far)!
