Missy Lees, MA, MT-BC (she/her/hers) is a board-certified music therapist with a Master’s in Music Therapy from NYU and a Bachelor’s in Psychology from UCLA with a minor in Italian. After completing internships in a psychiatric private practice in Beverley Hills and at UCLA’s intensive outpatient pediatric OCD clinic, as well as music therapy fieldwork in a school setting in Manhattan, NY, Missy completed her music therapy internship in inpatient psychiatry in Brooklyn, NY. Missy currently serves clients in medical and behavioral health settings with the McConnell Music Therapy Services team in Sacramento, CA. She is honored to be a witness to her clients’ personal transformations, as they embrace harmony, balance, and holistic health.

Missy’s passion for music sparked during her youth, joyfully singing Disney anthems and musicals. As a classically trained vocalist, Missy grew up performing opera, was a vocalist with her high school jazz band, and later sang in an a cappella group and choirs at UCLA, the University of Bologna, and Cabrillo College. Now she particularly enjoys singing and songwriting with piano and guitar. Missy also adores yoga, nature hikes, writing poetry, dancing around the house, teaching Italian, and learning languages!
